Estate Planning
As much as we don’t want to think about it, the unexpected happens when we least expect it.
Protect your family and yourself. There are many options, such as a will-based or trust-based plan, that can be designed to protect your loved ones in the event of your incapacity or passing.
Probate Administration
The time following the death of a loved one is a difficult one, often compounded by grief and confusion.
Probate is the court-driven process of managing and distributing a deceased person’s assets, settling their debts, and handling related affairs by following the deceased person’s will or, if there is no will, Illinois law.
Whether your loved one died with or without a will, or with a trust, I can help you navigate through this process with compassion and skill so that your loved one’s wishes can be honored.
Adult Guardianship
Guardianship is used in cases where an individual, because of their disability, is totally incapable of making personal and financial decisions. A guardian is given the power to make important decisions regarding the individual’s personal care and finances.
Guardianship is quite restrictive and is a measure of last resort. Please contact me so we can determine if guardianship is appropriate in your circumstances.
